Hazardous control of hydrochloric acid
Acid mist treatment
In the process of using hydrochloric acid, a large amount of hydrogen chloride gas is generated, and the suction device can be installed at the side of the container, and the facility is equipped with a fan, an acid mist purifier, a duct, and the like, and the hydrochloric acid mist is discharged to the outside for treatment. An acid mist inhibitor may also be added to the hydrochloric acid to inhibit the volatilization of hydrochloric acid acid mist.
Leakage emergency treatment
Emergency treatment: Quickly evacuate personnel from the contaminated area to a safe area, and conduct isolation to strictly restrict access. It is recommended that emergency personnel wear self-contained positive pressure breathing apparatus and wear acid and alkali protective overalls. Do not touch the spill directly. Cut off the source of the leak as much as possible.
Small spill: Mix with sand, dry lime or soda ash. It can also be rinsed with a large amount of water, diluted with water and placed in a wastewater system.
A large number of leaks: building a dike or digging a pit. Transfer to a tank truck or special collector with a pump, recycle or transport to a waste disposal site for disposal.
Fire-fighting measures
Hazardous characteristics: It can react with some active metal powders to release hydrogen. Cyanide can produce highly toxic hydrogen cyanide gas. Neutralizes with the base and gives off a lot of heat. Has a strong corrosive.
Extinguishing method in the presence of hydrochloric acid: neutralization with an alkaline substance such as sodium hydrogencarbonate, sodium carbonate, hydrated lime, or the like. It can also be saved with a lot of water.
first-aid
Skin contact: Immediately remove contaminated clothing, rinse with plenty of running water for at least 15 minutes, apply weak alkaline substances (such as alkaline water, soapy water, etc.) and seek medical attention.
Eye contact: Immediately lift eyelids and rinse thoroughly with plenty of running water or saline for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention.
Inhalation: Remove quickly from the scene to fresh air. Keep the airway open. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If breathing stops, perform artificial respiration immediately. Seek medical attention.
Ingestion: Rinse mouth with plenty of water, swallow a lot of raw egg whites or milk (do not take medicines such as baking soda) and seek medical advice.
